ABOUT
Edwin J. Kilpela, Jr. is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before dedicating his practice and career to working on behalf of individuals, Ed litigated and tried complex class-action and mass tort matters at both Williams & Connolly LLP and then, later, at Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP.
Since focusing exclusively on plaintiffs’ litigation, Ed has led or co-led cases involving consumer fraud, financial fraud, product liability, civil rights, and data breach/privacy. Some of Ed’s representative matters include: Powell et al. v. Subaru of America, 19-cv-19114-NLH-MJS (D.N.J.), Benson et al v. Newell Brands, Inc., 19-cv-06836 (N.D. Il.), Copley et al v. Evolution Well Services, 20-cv-01442-CCW (W.D. Pa.), Heinzl v. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, 4-cv-01455-LPL (W.D. Pa.).
Ed is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he received an undergraduate degree in philosophy as well as the New School for Social Research in New York City, where he received a Master’s Degree in philosophy. Ed graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School where he won the Campbell Moot Court competition, receiving individual honors for his oral advocacy and writing. Ed lives in Mt. Lebanon, a suburb of Pittsburgh, with his wife Gina and his two sons, Devin and Graham. He has been selected as either a Rising Star or SuperLawyer every year for the last 15 years by SuperLawyers magazine. When Ed is not practicing law, he enjoys skiing and golfing and, of course, his sons’ games.
